Making a website easier to read and exposing an agent interface are different steps. A structured source helps convey information. An agent interface also needs a defined contract, access controls, freshness rules and a clear boundary between reading and taking action.

An agent should be able to distinguish a product claim from a draft, identify its source and see relevant qualifications. Preparing headings and links is useful, but governance determines which facts are approved and which version is live.
Consider a fictional service provider’s coverage answer. The content needs a region, any exceptions and a supporting source. A future agent interface should not turn an old draft into a current commitment simply because it can retrieve the text.
A protocol adds an interface, not factual authority
The Model Context Protocol describes a host/client/server architecture and primitives including resources and tools. An integration contract makes information or actions available to a client; it does not independently prove that the information is correct or that an action is authorized. MCP architecture.
A read-only source resource and a tool that publishes content need different permissions. Treat retrieved text as data, keep instructions and authority separate, and preserve explicit approval for consequential changes.

Evaluate future interfaces against a concrete job
Before adding an endpoint, define who will call it, which approved source it exposes, how stale data is detected, and whether it can change anything. Test denied access and outdated versions as carefully as successful reads.
